Bowles & Wyer

5 questions with…

Written by Rosa Hinton

Each month we’ll feature a 5 question interview with one of our team – whether it’s one of our internal designers or trusted external contractors. This month it’s Landscape Architect, Jonathan Woolfenden, in the hotseat…

1. Where do you find inspiration?
I generally find inspiration within the countryside and in semi-natural environments…and on google!

2. What’s your favourite landscape?
Anywhere with mountains!

3.What are you working on now?
I’m working on a number of different projects at the moment. I’m doing the technical design of the outdoor spaces within a super prime new-build property in Knightsbridge, creating the concept design of a private residential garden in Surrey, and site monitoring the landscape installation within the recently refurbished Regents Crescent apartment blocks. And I’m also discharging planning conditions for a new artificial sports pitch at Eton College!

4. What’s the best part of your job?
Design… and clients being unexpectedly excited about gardens.

5. Why do you work at Bowles & Wyer?
I love the variety of experience and variety of project scales. It’s rare that any two projects are the same.
