The Florence Nightingale Garden +

We constructed The Florence Nightingale Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 for designer Robert Myers and sponsor The Burdett Trust for Nursing. The garden acts both as a tribute to the pioneering ideas of Florence Nightingale as well as a celebration of modern-day nursing. The space is enclosed similar to a hospital pavilion layout, with a large pergola made from CLT which stretches over the length of the garden. The perimeter walls feature ghostly images of Florence Nightingale and panels etched with her handwriting, whilst the planting features a variety of traditionally medicinal species and examples of Nightingale’s own extensive pressed flower collection.
